DESCRIPTION:Dozens of pieces of artwork will be displayed at the annual “Creativity is Timeless” Exhibit at Walnut Hills Retirement Community on Saturday\, August 24. All of the artwork was completed by Holmes County area residents who are ages 55 and over. \nThe exhibit will be held in the Walnut Hills Retirement Home\, located at 4770 Olde Pump Street in Walnut Creek\, and will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 24. Admission to the exhibit is free. \nVisitors to the exhibit will enjoy beautiful artwork from a variety of categories\, including paintings and drawings; photography; quilts and wall hangings; needlework and other soft crafts; woodworking; hard crafts; and miscellaneous arts and crafts items. \nTo determine the recipient of the People’s Choice Award\, visitors will have a chance to vote for their favorite piece of artwork. \nFor more information on “Creativity is Timeless\,” contact Paula Miller\, Community Relations Coordinator at 330-893-3200\, extension 1354.

DESCRIPTION:May 25 and 27 - Learn about the spring planting season at The Farm. Closed Sunday. \nThe Farm hosts over 500 animals\, comprised of species from six of the seven continents. Our menagerie includes exotic animals such as giraffes\, camels\, zebras\, and kangaroos along with more common animals like horses\, llamas\, buffalos and deer. Also\, all visitors will have the opportunity to view and hand-feed the animals from a conventional car or a horse-drawn wagon. You can also get close to some of the animals in our petting area. \nWe are a working farm and as such\, the type of activities visitors may witness during a visit change with the seasons. Depending on the time of year\, you may see plowing\, thrashing\, canning\, quilting and more. You can tour our non-electric farm houses\, buy produce at our farm stand\, and take pictures of all that you see. The Farm is a fun and educational experience for people of all ages. \n
