About

German Culture Museum

The Walnut Creek Amish Heritage Museum houses a collection of local memorabilia and exhibits highlighting the Amish, German, and Swiss heritage of Holmes County and Walnut Creek Township. Focused on the area’s settlement and everyday life in the 19th and 20th centuries, the museum features artifacts such as those belonging to Jonas Stutzman, known as the “Father of Amish Country,” along with displays depicting pioneer and early community life. Knowledgeable volunteer docents are available to greet visitors and share insights.

Located on the lower level of the Walnut Creek Community Building (parking and main entrance at the rear), the museum is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. during May through October. There is no admission fee, though cash donations are appreciated. Groups are welcome by appointment. For more information, call 330-763-1390.
