Trail Battery and Solar is a small family-owned business near Walnut Creek, Ohio. Our business was started in 2006, when Jacob Hershberger began selling batteries and cables in a small shop next to his home. Already a successful plumbing contractor, Jacob saw the growing need among his Amish neighbors to generate and store their own electrical power.

Shortly after starting the battery business, Jacob’s family began installing solar panels and storage systems. Off-grid power was needed to generate power for Amish buggy batteries and limited home use.

From those humble beginnings, Trail Battery and Solar has grown to install Grid-tie and off-grid solar energy systems of all sizes. As well as licensed electrical wiring for commercial and residential needs.

Our family business has now grown into the second generation and with a staff of expert installers and salesmen. We strive to grow our company to meet the energy needs both our local Amish community and grid-tie clients all over Ohio and the surrounding states.
